About Us

Rotary International is made up of more than 46,000 clubs worldwide. This is ours.

Fostering Community and Fellowship Since 2006

The State College Sunrise Rotary Club builds connection through shared values. Although our Rotarians represent a diverse array of professional backgrounds, we find common ground through a dedication to service, inclusivity, community, equity, lifelong and learning.

Our Story

The State College Sunrise Club was chartered in 2006. Today, it has one of the most diverse age ranges of any club: 23-85 and still growing!

We engage in various fundraising programs to support community non-profits like Discovery Space, Park Forest Preschool, and Global Connections, among others.

We volunteer our time and talents to community service projects, like Adopt-A-Highway, Letters to Santa, and the Special Olympics.

We also recognize others doing good in our community. In 2013, our club initiated The Four-Way Test Award, which honors exemplary service in the region.

Our Mission

We hold ourselves to the mission set forth by Rotary International:

We provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

Rotary members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. We work with other Rotary clubs to:

  • Promote peace
  • Fight disease
  • Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
  • Save mothers and children
  • Support education
  • Grow local economies
  • Protect the environment
